ASUS 1005HA: The King of all Netbooks

Before being part of what I think, in this device, here a small guide to the different tastes of the 1005HA:

1005HA-P (more)
N280 1.66 GHz, 667 MHz Front Side Bus, 1.3MP Web Cam, 10.5 hours of battery, Large screen, Bluetooth, netBook Sleeve
Available colors: black, blue

1005HA-V (Mid Range price)
N270 1.6 GHz, 533 MHz Front Side Bus, 0.3MP Web Cam, 8.5 hours battery, matte screen
Available colors: black, blue, white, pink

1005HA-B (the least expensive, best-selling buy)
N270 1.6 GHz, 533 MHz Front Side Bus, 0.3MP Web Cam, 4.5 hours battery, matte screen
Available colors: black, blue, white, pink

Which one to get?

It is difficult to recommend the B series offers the best buy, if you have to pay VAT. After the addition of VAT, you will be the price of the Series V, twice the life of the battery. The life of the battery is one of the most important characteristics of a netBook, I do not go cheap and less battery.

The decision between the V-series and P series to really make you care about a slightly different speed (if available), a small difference battery, better camera, Bluetooth, and / or netBook sleeves. For me, the other ~ $ 40 for the P series is highlighted. A single socket netBook costs $ 10 - $ 20 Bucks.

Pros:

- The P-1005HA and incorporates all the features you want in a netBook. Some ppl might be rather a screen resolution higher, but I do not think this is necessary.
- It is thinner than the 1000HE, then it seems so difficult.
- I think the new keyboard PS rival mini-keyboards. The right Shift key size was enough for me, my drops 1000HE.
- The best of this unit is the life of the battery. Do not you think your breath for any 10 hours a day. Expect to 7-8 hours with WiFi and Bluetooth Power Save mode. I anticipate 6-7 hours in the field of high performance mode.
- Windows 7 works like a charm.

Cons:

- The long life of the battery makes the device difficult. The weight is not a Show Stopper, but it is something to mind.
- Some ppl may not like the touch pad is compatible with the establishment of the unit. The Touchpad is bumpy u you will find in the dark. He told me one day to use it.
- The speakers are at the bottom of page before the camera, if I am on the bed, the volume was low.
- Update drive requires a lot of work and void the warranty.
- I do not know how long the button rockers for the touchpad. I prefer 2 separate keys.

If you are having 1000HE the 1000HA?

Since the lifetime of the battery at least the difference is the only reason to upgrade would be best for the keyboard. For me, it's worth it, because the right shift key on the 1000HE is boring. I rather the trackpad on the 1005HA but I can understand when he mixed reviews.

1005HA vs. 1008HA

I like the 1008HA is difficult for me to recommend, it is on the 1005HA. For $ 30 - $ 40 more, you will receive a USB port less, are available on USB, which is annoying, and you will have less than half the lifetime of the battery. Yes, the 1008HA is thinner and weighs less. I can not justify the additional cost for a device that looks great, but not less.

Bottom Line:

The 1005HA is really the best available netBook. It integrates all the functions you need in a netBook. It has the longest lifespan of the battery of a laptop. The keyboard is now so well that HP and Samsung netBook. Unless you're really on a tight budget, or if you have a smaller or less severe for the device, there is really no reason to buy another netBook.

Upgrades needed:

Make sure that the storage of this device. Do not believe that Windows 7 with 2GB Ram

NetBook do not come with DVD drives external, that is to say, an inexpensive one.

UPDATE:

It seems a debate on the use of memory 667 MHz 800 MHz recommended Our memory vis-à-vis vessels 1005HA. I read that the 800 MHz is an advantage, but I also read that the 800 MHz to 667 MHz is in progress, even if u overclock. This is a discussion on the shape eeeuser. Check it out for yoursef.
